Alto saxophonist, singer and composer Jemima Whyte celebrates the release of her debut EP ‘Joy Grows’ – out on 20 December.  With roots in the north, Jemima’s style has been heavily shaped by the vibrant dance culture and Afrobeat scenes in Leeds, before forming her band in London. She has had captivating performances at Love Supreme Festival, Wilderness Festival, Jazz re:freshed, the London Jazz Festival, and is bringing her fresh sound to the Jago for a night of Jazz, Afrobeat, Soul and joy. Backed by a 7-piece powerhouse band including an all-female horn frontline (with the addition of exciting guest performers), Jemima and her band’s dynamic blend of energizing grooves, rich horn lines, old school breaks and soulful vocals are not one to miss this December.
