Based in London/Bristol/Brighton but hailing from Egypt, Uzbekistan, UK and US, Tashkezar combine influences from Egyptian 80s/90s pop with Balkan folk and Turkish funk to create what they call Egyptian Psych Funk, blending psych guitar with funk basslines, punchy horns, anthemic synth and catchy, uplifting Arabic vocals.

The group have played headline slots across the London and the UK, including the Jago, and their latest single “Awham” was released in December.
